Opening September 7, 2010 – The Hartford Art School Faculty Exhibition

The fall semester begins the exhibition season at the Joseloff Gallery, and the first show is the Hartford Art School Faculty Exhibition. This exhibition features works by distinguished faculty who teach in ceramics, drawing, illustration, media arts, sculpture, painting, photography, printmaking, visual communication design, and foundation studies.

This year’s exhibition will include new members of the Art School faculty: Jaclyn Conley (painting), Robert Lyons (photography), and Carolyn Muskat.

The exhibition will begin with an opening reception on Tuesday September 7, 2010 from 5-7PM in the Joseloff Gallery, and will run through Sunday October 10, 2010.

Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday from 11am to 4pm, and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4pm.  Admission is free.


Looking Ahead to the Fall: Kathy Butterly

How delicious is this work?  This is a recent piece by New York artist Kathy Butterly.  She is one of the Koopman Chairs in the Visual Arts at the Hartford Art School this year.  She and Kansas City ceramic artist, Andy Brayman will be having a show in the Joseloff Gallery this November.  And what a gorgeous show it will be!

Our exhibition, “Brayman & Butterly” will run from November 10 through December 19 2010 with an opening reception in the gallery on Tuesday November 9 from 5-7pm.  Kathy Butterly will hold a free public lecture in the Wilde Auditorium preceding the opening reception from 1:30-3pm.  She will also return to campus on Wednesday December 15 for a free evening gallery talk from 5-6:30pm.
